Apr 1958 - 13th F-106 produced by Convair at San Diego CA. Sent to AFFTC Edwards AFB CA - was never assigned to ADC. Was heavily damaged during a taxi test to gather information for a nose shimmy. During the test the left main tire blew and caused a brake fire. The aircraft slid off the runway onto the lake bed. Was sent to San Diego for repairs.
Jun 1961 - Scheduled for Test-To-Tactical (35th of 35 conversions), but upgrade cancelled with 57-2515 substituted in. Jun 1961 – Assigned to NASA Lewis Research Center Lewis Field Cleveland OH. Registered as NASA 607, N507NA, but was canceled and re-designated NF-106B. Was used for ejection seat testing & NASA projects, at NASA Lewis Facility, Cleveland OH as NASA S/N 607. 1973 - Used as a NASA Chase Plane. Did final qualification tests for Gemini spacesuit and spacecraft escape system. 1974 (est) - Used for Solar Cell Calibration tasks and later Upper Atmosphere Particulate Air Sampling tests. 1976-1979 (est) - Used for Ocean Color Scanner System tests. 12 May 81 - To NASA Langley Facility VA. Cut in half lengthwise so the left hand could be mounted in a wind tunnel to test the vortex flap used on NASA 816 (57-2516). 24 Feb 84 - Scrapped out

Fuselage cut in half at station 412 (Aft bulkhead missile bay) and a new fuselage, cockpit section, and nose section was installed with the latest production avionics, the same as the last F-106A 590148 and F-106B 590165. A total of 35 aircraft (28 "A" models and 7 "B" models) were converted and reassigned to various ADC units..
