20 Sep 60 - To 329th FIS George AFB CA 12 Oct 65 - Crashed: Pilot Carl Osborne (mentioned in Col (ret) Jack Broughton's book "Rupert Red Two") ejected (survived) out in the Weber seat over the Pacific Ocean. Doug Barbier remembers him saying that he floated around in his raft for an hour or two before he got picked up. Cannot remember what caused the crash. After Carl retired he went out to Idaho & became a farmer, just in time for Mt. St. Helens to erupt and cover his farm with several inches of ash.

Fuselage cut in half at station 412 (Aft bulkhead missile bay) and a new fuselage, cockpit section, and nose section was installed with the latest production avionics, the same as the last F-106A 590148 and F-106B 590165. A total of 35 aircraft (28 "A" models and 7 "B" models) were converted and reassigned to various ADC units..
