I was a Genie tech across the runway at Castle back in 1964-65. Buck Rogers was the CO and I lived in the barracks where we were allowed a great deal of freedom in decoratinf our rooms. I used to go home most weekends to El Dorado, near Placerville. I always loved that when SAC was having ORI’s, etc. as I drove by. I left Castle to go back to Lowry AFB, CO, as an instructor for almost four years, and then went down to Bossier Base, LA, before leaving the service. Good memories, though. I now live in Reno, NV after retirement from other federal service.
