Doug Sampson

That scruffy-looking SSgt holding the pilot's helmet bag is Doug Sampson (me). This was during a TDY to Tyndall AFB. I was an MA guy, but when POMO happened, I became a crew chief of 57-2477 and later 59-0150 when we got it from SA-ALC (Kelly). I was in the 84th from August 1977 to November 1979. Previous F-106 units were the 460 FIS (Grand Forks) from January to July 1974, and 49 FIS (Griffiss). I ended my active duty career right there at Tyndall in 2002 after 29 years. 1 month and 1 day of active service. I am still assigned to Tyndall as a Civil Service employee.
