I mentioned in another post that I was the crew chief of this aircraft from 1980 - 1983. KI Sawyer was my first base and I arrived there in June 1980 after being in the AF for only four months. I still have a 8X10 copy of this picture in my photo album at home along with several others taken around lake superior while I was stationed there. My very first aircraft and we took good care of each other.

I was the Crew Chief of this aircraft from 1980 - 1983. I took it over from SSgt Roger Palmeter and my assistant was Arvid Niemi. This was my first assignment in the Air Force and and actually the first of many new experiences. Being from Hawaii, I never saw snow before this and boy did it ever snow here. I retired from the Air Force in 2004 after 24 years.
